As everyone is no doubt aware, the current situation with the Omicron variant is putting additional pressure on all healthcare providers.
Throughout the festive period, despite best efforts, we experienced a significant impact on staffing levels and unfortunately, this trend has continued in parallel with increased demand for our services in January.
The health and wellbeing of our patients and our team are of utmost importance to us. We want you to know we are still here for you but our patient-facing hours, across all of our locations, will now be reduced slightly to allow pharmacies to catch up and carry out COVID cleaning procedures.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our team, who are going above and beyond every day to support their communities during another incredibly challenging time for the NHS and community pharmacy.
Our amended opening hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday
10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
Pharmacies that operate for a full day* on a Saturday, will also close 1pm-2pm.
*Elm Row, Leith Walk, Comiston Road, Crewe Road North, Currie, East Calder, West Calder Main Street, Nuchem, Portobello, Bannockburn, Stirling, Inverkeithing High Street, Alderston and Hawick.
It is important to mention that our operating hours remain the same and unless you are advised otherwise, there should be no change to the delivery schedule. This reduction in hours relates only to patient-facing time.
Please know that we are doing everything we can to avoid any reduction in opening hours but given the rapid spread of the new variant, we are having to react to additional pressure placed upon already stretched resources.
We aim to advise patients and customers of any further changes in a timely manner and would like to thank you for your continued support.
