NHS Scotland Pharmacy First Service

We offer the NHS Scotland Pharmacy First service at all of our pharmacies, allowing patients to access advice and appropriate treatment for minor illnesses and common health complaints without the need for a GP appointment.

WHo is it For?

Anyone registered with a GP in Scotland or living in Scotland can access this service.

How do I access this service?

There is no need to book an appointment but if you have a fever or are experiencing any other COVID related symptoms, please call ahead to speak to a member of the Pharmacy Team before visiting us in person.The Pharmacy First Service is available in all Lindsay & Gilmour pharmacies across Scotland.

In order to benefit from this service, we will ask you for some information, including:
  • name
  • date of birth
  • postcode
  • details of your symptoms

How does the service work?

The service has been set up so that Pharmacy teams in Scotland can provide on the spot:

clinical advice
referrals to other services
treatment if recommended

Once a member of the healthcare team has noted your details and symptoms, they will be in a position to provide you with the help you need.

This service is available from all pharmacies in Scotland that dispense NHS prescriptions.

Please remember to ask us if you would prefer to use one of our consultation rooms to speak to a Pharmacist in private. Our pharmacies have been specially adapted for this purpose.
